Bulgaria one of best destinations for retirement

Bulgaria has been named as one of the most affordable retirement destinations. It was also the only European country to appear on the list.
The list, compiled by Global Post, said that the country is "much cheaper" than other European destinations, yet is still extremely accessible.
A number of South American countries appeared on the list, including Costa Rica, Ecuador and Argentina. However, the website explained that medical facilities may not be up to the same standards as those seen in the most developed nations.
South Africa also made it on to the list, with Cape Town being named as one of the best destinations to retire in.
"High quality medical care is available in major cities. Less expensive private hospitals have made South Africa a destination for plastic surgery tourism," the website explained.
Malaysia and Thailand were named as two possible retirement destinations in Asia.
