Brits settle well in Bulgaria
11 November 2009
Brits moving abroad to Bulgaria have tended to settle well in the country, according to the British Ambassador to Bulgaria, Steve Williams.
In an interview with Standart News, Mr Williams said that the impression formed in a small survey by the British embassy in Sofia was a generally positive one.
He stated that "in general, those British nationals that had bought properties in Bulgaria in order to live here permanently or semi-permanently had integrated well with the local community", according to the study.
In addition to this, Mr Williams noted, Bulgarians had been broadly welcoming to Britons moving there and the ambassador said this was in line with his own personal experience.
