First modern shopping centre in Sliven under way

The Sliven retail city centre has been approved and construction has been launched. The shopping complex will be on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd, Stroitelstvo Gradut reported.
Currently the site is being cleared, with construction of the complex, which will cover 5300 sq m, scheduled to start on August 1.
The design was prepared by architectural bureau 4 rays with chief architects and company managers, Evgeni Rafailov and Svetoslav Spasov. The project's general contractor duties were entrusted to Sliven-based Building TD Ltd..
The building has been hailed as a "modern design approach with dynamic intersecting compartments and alcoves, spacious facades with glass and aluminium structure," Stroitelstvo Gradut said.
The design incorporates five main levels - one underground and four above-ground storeys. On the first floor there will be seven stores and additional retail stands, a cafe, bank office and fast food outlet. The underground level will accommodate a supermarket and the retail centre's warehouses.
The second and third level will feature additional 17 stores and retail kiosks, offices and an administration centre for the managers and technical facilities. The fourth floor will berth a restaurant, recreational centre a bar and a roof garden. The project's completion deadline is designated as October 26 2010, the Day of Sliven. The total cost of the project has not been disclosed.
