Bulgaria's real estate prices down EUR 100 per sqm in 2008

Real estate prices in Bulgaria have fallen on average EUR 100 per square meter in 2008, according to a survey by local real estate company Yavlena. The biggest fall was recorded in Sofia, where real estate prices stood at EUR 2,000 per square meter in 2008 versus between EUR 3,000 and 6,000 at the beginning of the year, said the survey.
In southern districts, the prices stood at between EUR 1,050 and EUR 1,250 per square meter in the period. Nadejda and Levski districts recorded the largest drop in real estate prices in 2008, down by 18 per cent as compared to last year.
According to the survey, demand for prefab concrete apartments has almost dried up compared to last year.
