Property fraudsters detained

Officers with the Chief Directorate of the Criminal Police, in cooperation with prosecutors with the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, detained an organized criminal group dealing with property frauds, Interior Ministry’s press office announced.
Authorities hampered a property fraud involving an apartment in the capital city Sofia and saved elder Sofia citizens from being left without a home.
The crime was disclosed after a signal sent to the Directorate for Combating General Crime with the Chief Directorate of the Criminal Police. The fraud has been worked out by an organized criminal group dealing with illegal property transfer with forged documents.
Eight people have been detained over the crime in the frames of the special police operation. They will stay under 24-hour arrested. Work on the case continues.
