Brits losing interest in Bulgarian market
18 January 2008
Bulgaria is slipping in the preferences of Britons looking to buy property abroad, according to a magazine survey, reports Sofia News Agency.
Spain and France have retained their top two positions in the list of 20 best overseas property destinations for UK property buyers, but Bulgaria has lost its third place and was ranked eight.
"Some places are proving less popular with buyers now that the initial surge of 'gold rush' buying is over, like Bulgaria and Thailand," the survey's author's said.
Neighbouring Turkey, a new entry to the chart, is the country that replaced Bulgaria in third spot, with Montenegro also closing the gap, while Croatia also lost ground.
The top 20 rundown was produced by the magazine from research carried out at recent A Place in the Sun Live shows in the UK.
